Keeping Up with Fitness Goals

Here we are in the middle of January 2018. Many of you have started your resolutions and are feeling the pressure of staying on the course. Keeping up with your fitness goals is necessary.

Once you enter the third week of January this is when the questioning begins. If you are on a fitness and diet path you are feeling it. What do you do now?

How do you find ways to stay motivated?

Here is what happens when you begin anything new. You feel motivated and excited to get back on track.

Find support through a friend. This way you are keeping each other accountable. Your primary motivation should be you though. You are the one that will decide if the journey is worth it.

Do you know how easy it is to quit? Do what it takes to make sure that you are following through with your word. If you say you will exercise three times a week, then do it.

Set it up like an appointment on your calendar. Use the apps on your phone to send you reminders. If it means packing your gym gear the night before then so be it.

If you are not a part of a gym, then simply lay out your workout gear the night before. This way you don’t have an excuse not to work out.

Nutrition plays a big role with your fitness goals. What you put in your body has a huge impact on your success. All of us get cravings and tend to cheat somewhere along the way.

If you break your diet it doesn’t mean you have failed. Think of yourself as a work in progress. Each step that you take is a win.

Get online and start following people that you admire that are into fitness. Personally, I follow my friend Rocio Ocampo on Instagram for daily inspiration. Through her I was able to join the New Year’s Challenge with Self magazine.

Now is your time to reflect on what you have started and what your own finish line looks like. Push through when you feel like giving up. Look in the mirror, give yourself a pep talk and be your own cheerleader.

Let’s do this!
