Ever feel stuck on your path?
You know that path that you’re supposed to be embarking on. Maybe it’s that path that was once your life long dream. The one that has been put on hold because you are a bit scared.
Going after any kind of dream is never something that is easy. In fact it can give you a lot of grief. You go through a phase where you feel like you are not good enough or worthy even.
Records were meant to be broken. Meaning your own personal records with all of your goals. Just because something scares you doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do it.
It should challenge you and motivate you to try. Failure at something is not the end of the world. Although it doesn’t feel good when it happens it’s part of the process.
You grow from it. It’s up to you to decide when it is going to be a deal breaker.
Will it be determined by the amount of time it takes you?
I have been trying to get published in Chicken Soup for the Soul books for years. Has that stopped me from continuing to submit?
Of course not. It’s a competitive market and I do not take it personally. I plan on submitting until the time comes that it’s finally my moment.
You have to have your small goals and your big goals. Goals that seem impossible are the very ones that I like to challenge myself with.
There are days where I am like anyone else and wonder if it is the right thing. However, that is only when my inner critic wants to have a dramatic talk. That inner voice that isn’t wearing a super hero cape.
We all have that inner super hero inside of us. The one that is willing to keep on keeping on no matter what. The very one that is unstoppable.
That is the one that I depend on. Growing up it was Wonder Woman for me. You see we all need that inner voice that projects positive affirmations and confidence in pursuing our passion. The voice that believes in your purpose.
What voice have you been listening to lately?
Have a raw talk with yourself to see where you are and where you want to go. I’m a big fan of writing it all down too. For me it is the best way for me to see what I plan on doing.
It also gives me a chance to see how it makes me feel. Certain goals draw a variety of emotions from you. You have the goals that make you want to run and hide.
Then you have the goals that keep stretching you. Along come the goals that make you feel like you are really doing it. When in fact you might be at the very peak of it. That almost there kind of goal.
When you get to this point of being almost there that’s the push that you need. It’s at this very moment when you have pushed past fear, any kind of insecurities and now you want to win it.
That means you are conquering whatever it was that scared you. This is a good place to be in too. Every goal that you go after is worth something.
You start to put a value on it because now you have time invested. If you are like anyone else then your time is very valuable to you.
Can you imagine doing something that doesn’t hold any value?
I know I definitely want to value every minute that I put into my dream. When you gain confidence that is the moment when you start noticing a shift.
That shift is important because it lets you know that it’s not impossible anymore. Start one day at time. Develop the personal habits that you need for your particular goal. Remember it doesn’t work if you sit in idle mode.
Get out of the I’m not qualified enough mentality and go for it. Look at insecurities with your dream or goal as a way to get out of your comfort zone.
Are you ready to commit to your dream today?
